To anyone seeking a better way to get into shape,
When I came into One Way 2 Fitness, I was doing it as a favor for a co-worker who had heard me complaining about being big and wanted to help. I appreciated the gesture, but still hadn’t decided to do anything to change my eating or choices that led to my increase in size. In a nutshell, I’d accumulated weight after working long hours for at least a decade. Additionally, I had double knee surgery 3 years ago and that made things worse, gradually adding more lbs. to my frame.
When I showed up at One Way 2 Fitness on July 22, 2007 I weighed in at 338 lbs. and naturally skeptical that I could work out with a couple of my co-workers who just needed to lose 15-20 lbs. to get in shape. I started at a very slow level, only able to do 2 partial push ups and barely doing level 2 on the Stair Master. I worried that my knees couldn’t take the Stair Master, but that wasn’t the case at all…I just took it slow. Of course my pals were performing at a much higher level, but the quality of the workout for me early on - and today - is just as high as theirs.
The shakes and nutritional bars Stephen Riley of One Way 2 Fitness introduced me to have given me much needed structure for my meals (before I never ate breakfast, ate a big lunch and had dinner very late). Having meals “scripted” so to speak has been good for me, the workouts have resulted in dropping a few lbs. each time, and I’ve enjoyed the progress and Stephan’s expert instruction & environment very much.
On October 31st I left my daily workout at One Way 2 Fitness at 276 lbs. – I did the Stair Master at level 10 (and felt exhausted) and can now proudly pump out push ups in similar fashion as my coworkers. I like the way I’m feeling and everyone I know tells me that I look better, healthier. I recently visited relatives, one of which cried after seeing my improved fitness level! I am truly enjoying the journey. Steph’s program is a formula that works: exercise, nutrition, and supplements at healthy levels that just get the job done. All I had to do was show up and reap the benefits (and not be afraid to sweat!).
I still have a ways to go. My next goal is to get to 245 lbs. by the end of the year. After years of wanting to get my “old body” back, I feel the tools Steph has given me will allow me to get there finally. I’m convinced his program works for all body types – my buddies have lost between 25 – 40 lbs. each themselves and they are in the best shape of their adult lives. We’ve added a couple of more people to our workouts recently and several people in our office are now enjoying the USANA products, all a result of seeing what has happened to the progress of the original 3 people.
I highly recommend One Way 2 Fitness and Stephen Riley’s instruction. It’s shaken me out of my personal doldrums and I’m looking forward to getting to my target weight. What has been most surprising is that it hasn’t been a struggle, it’s been an awakening experience. I’m grateful to OW2F and Stephen for his mentoring and guidance.
